Seeking a dedicated, NZ registered teacher to join an outstanding team working with a range of neurodiverse students

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced New Entrants Teacher to engage and nurture learning for Takiwatanga (Autistic) students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and special education practices. You will create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment that fosters the growth and development of each student.


About the role
We are seeking a teacher who can inspire and engage neurodiverse ORS funded students in learning opportunities that will enable them to reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be trained to understand and address the diverse needs of neurodiverse students. They can tailor educational strategies and resources to help each student reach their potential.

  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for new entrant students, considering their unique needs and abilities and one that incorporates play/sensory based learning opportunities.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students' individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students and their families, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and special education.




Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • NZ registered teacher.
  • Certification in Special Education preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with young children, particularly those with special needs.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and special education practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.



In return
The base salary for trained and registered teachers from overseas will range from $53,544 to $90,000, depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
