Recent Changes to the AEWV – Jobcorp Webinar

Recent Changes to the Accredited Employer Work Visa and its Effect on Employers and Skilled Migrants – Jobcorp Webinar

Immigration New Zealand announced amendments to the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme last weekend. The recent changes introduce shorter visa lengths and increased requirements for new applicants, including a minimum skill threshold and English proficiency.

Employers are now tasked with stricter advertising and hiring practices, along with new obligations to ensure adequate work hours and reporting. Staff who are currently on an AEWV might not be able to apply for extensions anymore or not be eligible for residency which will affect their future immigration pathway.

The changes will also affect the maximum continuous of some current AEWV holders and the residence eligibility for several Skilled Migrants categories such as Panel Beaters, Fitter/Turners, Fabricators, Spray Painters, and other Trade Engineering roles.

As a leading recruitment and immigration company, we will run two exclusive webinars tailored to address the implications of the amended AEWV scheme. During these sessions, you will gain valuable insights into how the recent changes impact your current situation as an Employer or as a Skilled Migrant on an AEWV, and the conditions and processes of future AEWV applications that have been in place since 7th April 2024.

Our expert, Licensed Immigration Adviser Vanessa Godbaz, will lay out how to navigate the new immigration landscape and our team will be available to provide further guidance and answer any questions you might have.
